for accessing video services access from home with open encoding methods, service interfaces and integrated audio, video and security functions;
provide gateways to service centers via broadband IP access (xDSL, HFC, WLL) networks, to common household appliances via standard bus and to video
service access devices, TV sets, multi-modal sensors & control other home devices via broadband wireless IP; create a generic service centre
to handle home applications and video-based services; implement services over heterogeneous networks with complete security and QoS management support;
